TITLE OF THE PROJECT: Circle of Friends

DURATION OF THE PROJECT: September 2023 – May 2024

SHORT DESCRIPTION:

This project was designed to promote young children’s communicative skills in the English Language while simultaneously fostering friendship in a European scale. Through the use of digital tools and letter exchange, we want to provide pupils from different cultural backgrounds with active and meaningful learning experiences, integrating curricular contents and developing collaborative work and interaction. By creating a global network of young English speakers who value friendship and collaboration, this project will contribute to a more harmonious and interconnected world as well as the development of various skills and values.

AIMS:

-  Use the English Language in real and meaningful contexts;

-  Have a pen pal and develop lasting friendships;  

-  Get to know friends from other countries;

-  Develop language skills (writing, speaking, listening and reading);

-  Develop social skills;

-  Promote collaborative work;

-  Motivate for values such as respect for others, tolerance, mutual help, solidarity and citizenship

-  Foster the awareness of a European identity;

-  Share cultural experiences, customs and traditions, daily lives;

-  Develop intercultural competences;

-  Promote digital literacy to access knowledge in context;

-  Bolster pupils’ motivation in the learning process.
